About Food Cart Fest
Food Cart Fest Vancouver is a gathering of over 20 of the city’s top Food Carts presented by Vancity, Arrival and The Streetfood Vancouver Society. Join us every Sunday in the Summer at the Olympic Village for food, fun, and sun complemented by community markets, live music, DJs, craft food vendors, kids activities, ping pong, urban gardening, and more. Admission is $2.50, and free for Vancity members or with a non-perishable food donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
Starting June 28th 2015, Food Cart Fest will take place every Sunday in the Summer from 12pm-5pm at 215 West 1st Avenue (between the Cambie Street Bridge and the Olympic Village). The site is next to the Seawall and a short walk from the Canada Line’s Olympic Village Station, the Aquabus’ Spyglass Place Dock, and major bus routes along Broadway, Cambie, Main, and West 2nd Avenue.
Zero Waste Events
We are excited to announce that we’re working towards making Food Cart Fest a Zero Waste Event that aims to divert a minimum of 94% of event waste from local landfills. Thanks to our partners Vancity, Recycling Alternative and Green Chair Recycling for sharing their vision to create positive impact by demonstrating care for the environment and community.Read more about it here
Food Cart Fest is more than just great, local food. New this year is the Sunday Local. Operating adjacent to the festival, this 400-person capacity, licensed live-music patio will feature local acoustic talent on stage and showcase the best craft beer and wine the province has to offer. Other activities include an expanded kids recreation zone, which will be presented by Brick4Kidz and features fun, educational activities with giant Lego bricks. A giant ping pong area, which will be hosted by Ping Pong Club’s Michael Unger and feature casual play and tournaments for all skill levels. Open-air markets produced in collaboration with the Eastside Flea and Blim.
